Traditional house restoration
Local Futures Ladakh requests your assistance in raising money to restore Sabipa's traditional mud house in Chuchot Yokma, Leh. The house is located 7 kms from Leh Town, and the mighty Indus roars just a few meters away.
Why assist our campaign?
- More than 200 years old, the house is of historical significance and, as such, its
restoration will enhance connection to Ladakh’s heritage.
- The restored house will serve as a vibrant workshop space and office for Local
Futures Ladakh– an NGO which promotes Ladakhi culture, stronger local economies,
healthier local food systems, and young farmers. Therefore, the house will become an
important hub for people of diverse backgrounds to gather and work together to solve
the crises facing Ladakh and the globe.
- The house will serve as an example of sustainable, traditional building techniques, reconnecting local people to their architectural heritage, embodying true
sustainability, and contributing to the beauty of Ladakh.
To assist us in achieving our objective and realising this project, we humbly ask for your
kind donation in any amount.

Reduce, Reuse & Recyle
Zero waste is important because it helps protect the environment and reduce the significant pressure we are putting on the planet.
zero waste takes aim at our “take, make, and waste” approach to production and consumption, encouraging a more circular approach to the way we use resources.
Join our team in different approaches to find ways of waste management.

Growing & Cooking
“When you grow your own food, you savor it more because of the effort it took to get to the table.”
You don't have to be a millionaire to enjoy fresh, flavorful, and nutritious food. Almost anyone can grow food in a container or on a small plot of land. You can have so much fun and flavor by substituting just one or two of your regular store purchases with those that you've grown yourself. With that in mind, here are a few compelling reasons to start your own vegetable garden.
JOin us to help growing some of the fields/gardens in Ladakh & cooking sessions with Solja Cafe, Leh.
